Handcrafted Cocktail 101: Pineapple Mango Rum Slush

by Mikka Padua May 20, 2013

We're trying to set the bar (high) on cocktail crafting while embracing the return of classic entertaining. We admit to having a little penchant for bar carts and everything else that comes with it. We like it well-stocked and well-styled, donned in our classic HWTM maxi when entertaining.

Concoctions are taken seriously as we have embarked on a search for STU's signature cocktail. In this space we share recipes we've tried and liked, whether its for an after work de-stressing situation or for some mid-day boozy libation.

The art of cocktail crafting is one we want to master among other things. Number one rule is to use good quality spirits along with fresh ingredients. Second, is to substitute creatively should parts of the recipe are not locally available. And last but dare not least-- garnish and serve with chic accoutrements!

So on to our first crafted concoction. The Pineapple Mango Rum Slush.

All of the above fruits you can get fresh from your local markets. And if there's one good golden rum we can recommend, it has got to be, proudly Filipino made- Don Papa

Start by peeling and dicing the mangoes. Followed by the pineapple. Drop everything in the blender along with 4 ounces of rum and blend away!

Pour over old fashioned glasses and garnish with pretty contrasting fruits. Top with ice if you fancy.

A cocktail is never complete without the right accoutrements. Paper straws do the job very well!

The verdict? It's refreshing with just the right amount of kick! Is this our signature cocktail? We haven't decided yet.

Try it at home and do share if you think this is worth the STU signature cocktail stamp.

Meanwhile, cheers, Seekers!
